3 things that I noticed about Mary’s gift ” The Albaster Anointing Oil”

1 . Significance -spontaneous expression of Mary’s deep devotion to Jesus was a PURE act of love.

2 . Uncommon – This was not an everyday occurance. This was a special moment-an extraordinary opportunity.

3. Extravagant- The kind of honor was only lavished on kings.…

The Alabaster anointing oil was hard to get and very expensive. What Mary poured on Jesus was worth an entire year’s wages!! Glory. Her gift to Jesus was over the top and off the charts.

The disciples criticized Mary, thinking she was wasting money. But Jesus told the disciples to leave her alone!

When Mary anointed Jesus with Alabaster Anointing Oil the Bible say Jesus blessed her and declared that her gift would be a memorial to her forever
