About jfmanuel3

Rev. Dr. Jessie Faye Manuel is a pastor, author, preacher, community leader, and prophetic voice committed to the transformation of the Black church and the strengthening of rural communities. A native of Louisiana, Rev. Dr. Manuel has devoted more than 28 years to pastoral ministry and more than four decades to missionary service. She currently serves as Senior Pastor of Young Chapel CME Church and New Birth CME Church in Bastrop, Louisiana. Her ministry is rooted in prayer, justice, community wellness, leadership development, and the belief that the church must be more than a place we attend—it must be a place where people are restored, equipped, empowered, and transformed. Rev. Dr. Manuel holds a Master of Divinity degree and an Honorary Doctorate in Community Leadership from Louisiana State University Shreveport. She is currently pursuing doctoral work in Social Justice and Community Wellness with Womanist Preaching, exploring the intersection of faith, Black rural communities, leadership, wellness, and the future of the church. She is the author of numerous books and the visionary behind several ministry and community initiatives, including Women of Purpose, Care Leadership Academy, and The Rural Church Revival. Her writing and preaching center the voices and experiences of Black women, rural congregations, clergy, caregivers, and communities often overlooked by traditional structures. Known for her prophetic preaching and practical theology, Rev. Dr. Manuel challenges the church to remember its assignment: to pray, to serve, to speak truth, to heal wounds, and to become a living witness of God's transforming power. Through her ministry, scholarship, writing, and community work, she continues to ask one important question: What happens when the church moves beyond Sunday and becomes a center for leadership, wellness, justice, and community transformation? Rev. Dr. Jessie Faye Manuel believes the answer is simple: the church can become the place where revival meets responsibility, faith meets action, and communities rise again.

Paris

When God was making Paris
He thought, “What can I do”
To create a perfect little girl
To make one of  grandma’s dream come true.

He started with cute and healthy
Then added extra smarts
Then threw in lots of giggles
To lighten up our hearts

He made her eyes a great big brown with long eyelashes
And put extra twinkles there
Then stroked her skin with a golden bronze
He placed curls in her soft coal black hair.

He made her brave and made her strong
Part — by—– part——
And made her big enough to share
So everyone could  can share one of Granny Fae’s nuggets of  treasure

It’s been three years since God sent you
And I’m thankful every day
That he heard the prayer from Grandma and sent this  little girl our way.

Every evening when my car pulls into the drive
I can see her house across on the otber side.
There is a phone call and I listens for a voice “Nana, Come pick me Up!”
I smile and take a deep breathe and say come on over.
That makes me feel so bless.

We love you!

I Have God ‘s Promises.

The promise of God are made manifest in our life according to,
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain , Be thou removed , ad be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt  in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23

Receiving the  promises of God is not believing that he will but knowing that he will but  knowing that he has. Yes! Lord ! What we believe in our hearts is what we will speak out of our mouth.

We believe in Jesus and that he is the promise of a new life  for us by way of the cross. We believe in the Holy Spirit as our divine helper and intervener . We believe in the Sovereignty of God Almighty. We believe this by faith. Faith is also the key to us receiving the promises of God! We should give God 100%.

Even on our secular jobs there we  should give 100 % and have the  same attitude toward your job should be taken. When we are hired  on a job, you are hired for your ability to perform  a task with accuracy and excellence. Your performance on your job speaks of your character and work ethics.

Your work does reflect you and what you believe or stand for . The outcome of your work performance speaks of who your true character is . As an employee you should not expect a promotion if  your are not performing  your job well. Your length of time on the job does not  automatically  entitle you to a promotion. As a believer you  want your to reflect your Christian character.

Father I thank you that I am a being renewed in my mind concerning the promises you have made to me. I know that because I am seeking first the kingdom of God you are causing all things to be added to me. I just want to thank you my family is blessed and we receive  the blessings in our life, wealth are riches are in our homes because I as a Child of God taught them to trust in You. I thank you that my life is better because I apply your word to my situations daily. I walk ub divine healed health because your word says that I  am healed by the strips of Jesus. I thank you Father, Yes , Glory, that today I have every need met, I walk in the promise of God and nothing can by any  means hurt me because I overcome by the Blood of the Jesus and words of my testimonies that lives on the inside of me.

Lord I thank you,Ohhh! I I Love you. I am grateful just to praise you Lord that flows from my heart.

Reason, Season or Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person. When someone is in your life for a REASON . . . It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end .Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON . . .Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

When I

When I give, it does not come with strings. I’m not keeping track of what you owe me. When I give, I choose to do so without ulterior motives. I give because I’m genuine. I give because I know what it’s like to be without. To long for and be ignored. To speak and not be heard. To care for and have nothing returned. When I give it’s because I get it. It’s because I know the value in what I have in my heart and I refuse to let the world stop me from sharing that. But when things start being taken for granted. When you no longer appreciate my sincerity. I won’t switch, I won’t get angry, and I won’t be spiteful. I’ll just get smart and I’ll change your role in my life. Because when I give, I’m all in. But when I’m done, there’s no looking back.

You

Seriously, be strong and know when enough is enough. You need to stop hiding from that difficult decision. Take your stand, speak up and refuse to let others hurt you. Throughout your lifetime some people will discredit you, disrespect you and treat you poorly for no apparent reason at all. Don’t consume yourself with trying to change them or win their approval.
And don’t make any space in your heart to hate them. You don’t have control over what others think about you, but you do have control over how you decide to internalize their opinions. Leave them to their own judgments. Let people love you for who you are, and not for who they want you to be. Or let them walk away if they choose. They can’t harm you either way; it’s their understanding that is faulty, not yours.

Look

Don’t look for a pretty face it will will turn old one day. Don’t look for a soft skin, it will wrinkle one day. But Look for a loyal heart that will miss you every day and love you forever.

?

Here’s to the people who try their hardest to be good enough for everyone; who spend hours reading random quotes to find the right one; who listen to the same song dozens of times because the lyrics mean a lot; who deserve so much more than they get and are willing to fight for it and those who wished upon a star, wasted on someone that will never care; and to the beautiful people that feel lonely in their heart. Take courage.

For All

This goes out to all of the people who have been broken but have been strong enough to let go. For the people who have hurt so badly that they felt they could never love again, but kept their head up. For the people that wish loneliness wasn’t a part of them, but put up with it anyhow. For the people that are okay with taking up all of the room in the bed, even if sometimes it feels a little empty. For the people who wake up in the morning with no missed calls, but smile anyway. For the people that have wounds still healing. For the people that have so much tied to their past relationship, but break those chains to start fresh. For the people that want to look back so badly, but focus on the road ahead. For the people that pick up the phone so tempted to call, but keep their dignity intact instead. For the people that never wanted to let go, but had to. For the people that still believe in love even after all of the hurt their heart has endured. For all the people that gave up not because they were weak, but because most times it’s better just to let go. You will get your happy ending someday. Hang in there and don’t give up. Because all endings are also beginnings.

I Chose Me

Most of my life has been spent trying to shrink myself. Trying to become smaller. Quieter. Less sensitive. Less opinionated. Less needy. Because I didn’t want to be a burden. I didn’t want to be too much or push people away.
I wanted people to like me. I wanted to be cared for and valued. I wanted to be wanted. So for years, I sacrificed myself for the sake of making other people happy. And for years, I suffered. But I’m tired of suffering, and I’m done shrinking. It’s not my job to change who I am in order to become someone else’s idea of a worthwhile human being. I am worthwhile. Not because other people think I am, but because I exist, and therefore I matter. My thoughts matter. My feelings matter. My voice matters. And with or without anyone’s permission or approval, I will continue to be who I am and speak my truth. Even if it makes people angry. Even if it makes them uncomfortable. Even if they choose to leave. I refuse to shrink. I choose to take up space. I choose honor my feelings. I choose to give myself permission to get my needs met. I choose me”
