About jfmanuel3

Rev. Dr. Jessie Faye Manuel is a pastor, author, preacher, community leader, and prophetic voice committed to the transformation of the Black church and the strengthening of rural communities. A native of Louisiana, Rev. Dr. Manuel has devoted more than 28 years to pastoral ministry and more than four decades to missionary service. She currently serves as Senior Pastor of Young Chapel CME Church and New Birth CME Church in Bastrop, Louisiana. Her ministry is rooted in prayer, justice, community wellness, leadership development, and the belief that the church must be more than a place we attend—it must be a place where people are restored, equipped, empowered, and transformed. Rev. Dr. Manuel holds a Master of Divinity degree and an Honorary Doctorate in Community Leadership from Louisiana State University Shreveport. She is currently pursuing doctoral work in Social Justice and Community Wellness with Womanist Preaching, exploring the intersection of faith, Black rural communities, leadership, wellness, and the future of the church. She is the author of numerous books and the visionary behind several ministry and community initiatives, including Women of Purpose, Care Leadership Academy, and The Rural Church Revival. Her writing and preaching center the voices and experiences of Black women, rural congregations, clergy, caregivers, and communities often overlooked by traditional structures. Known for her prophetic preaching and practical theology, Rev. Dr. Manuel challenges the church to remember its assignment: to pray, to serve, to speak truth, to heal wounds, and to become a living witness of God's transforming power. Through her ministry, scholarship, writing, and community work, she continues to ask one important question: What happens when the church moves beyond Sunday and becomes a center for leadership, wellness, justice, and community transformation? Rev. Dr. Jessie Faye Manuel believes the answer is simple: the church can become the place where revival meets responsibility, faith meets action, and communities rise again.

My Demons

2 Corinthians 12:7-10… “And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong” (KJV). I want to talk a little about Paul’s thorn and the buffeting he received and how he handled it. But first a few other verses…

Ministry of Jesus

I’m  just trying to minister like Jesus.
The Bible makes it very clear that Jesus had a heart for women. Women were the first ones to appear at the foot of His  cross and the last ones to leave.
They were also the first to be sent by Jesus to tell the men about His resurrection. Women throughout the Bible were true witnesses for the truth about Jesus.

Jesus allowed women to touchlIne This was just not allowed. A women was never allowed to come in contact with a priest. In (Luke 8: 40-49) you remember the women who touched the hem of His garment.Jesus immediately’ turned around and said “Who Touched Me?”
But He,Jesus, did not rebuke her, instead He talked to her.

The widow of Main, who had only one son, and when he died she went out to bury him.(Luke 7: 11-17) Jesus met the funeral procession and touched the bier where the dead man was lying. His touch resurrected the young man. When Jesus first met the widow, she was moaning. Jesus said to her, “Don’t Cry.”
He cared for the widow, and He cared for dead son.He touched the dead and they arose. He was life; He was the resurrection.

Jesus also had a vision,a passion, and a mission. Let’s not be weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1Corinthians 15:58)

On The Job Training speaks for itself.
Trust a man that was canated into human flesh, wrapped in the Holyv Spirit
and had a speech that could make a deaf man talk ,  he has a stare that could make a man with palsy stand straight , a hand shake  that made a lame man get up and leap into the sanctuary, a touch that healed all manner of diseases,a tear that raised a friend that had been dead for four days.
and blessed a few fish and bread to feed more than 5,,000, a psychiatrist that talked and listened to an  insane man who became sane.
Now. who do trust?

Choices

You choose to be happy or you choose to let someone make you sad or depressed.

You choose to embrace joy or you choose to let others steal your joy.

You choose your own mood or you let someone else dictate your mood.

You choose friends that are positive, encouraging, and uplifting or you choose people who criticise, manipulate you to do what they feel you should do.

You choose to be a success or you choose to be a failure. You choose be a winner or you choose to be defeated.

You choose those that encourage you to use your gifts or you choose those that put out passion you have to use that gift/s.

You choose to step out and believe by faith or you choose to stay in your comfort zone.

If you choose the positives, you are on the right track.

If you have more of the negative choices,  your life will be that of stress and discouragement.

BEWARE, those that are closest to you, will edify you and help you toward your goals, BUT the one’s that are closest to you, can also be the reason.

On a treadmill…going nowhere fast.I call those people dream-killers.

If you are around someone and once you leave them you feel like you can conquer the world, you are around the right type of people.

But, if everytime you’re around certain people and when you leave them you are drained,  depressed and sad,you are around a dream-killer and you should run for you life.( no matter who they may be)

YOU MAKE THE CHOICE!!!!!

Chose life.,….

you’re worth it!!!!!!!

Thin Line

When we’re the last time you told someone you love these 3 Words “I Love You” and really meant it?

Actually, we live in a culture where these words are too often overused. They’re said too soon, or they’re spoken so often that we don’t appreciate their meaning. They roll off the tongue casually, and fall on ears that have heard them so many times they no longer sink in.

However, don’t despair.

There are three little words a woman or man can say to a man or woman that will make them  feel confident, happy, and deeply in love. These words can make them  feel what every man or woman  wants to feel: that he or she  are the number one person in their partner’s life and that she or him  thinks they are the best man or woman  on this earth.

The next time  you tell a man or woman that you love them , be serious.

I just watched “A Thin Line Between Love and Hate” .

Still and Careless Within

Within you, I’ve found the perfect friend
Someone who I know will be there till the end
And they’re not just thoughts I hope will fulfill
But thoughts that will stand forever still

Still as the wind on a hot summer’s day
Still as your friendship I’ll never betray
Still as the characters in a photograph
Still as your breathless, silent laugh

Within you, I’ve found the perfect friend
A mind that I can comprehend
A person I see is so much like me
A mutual relationship so carefree

Carefree as a child who questions the world
Carefree as a scream that goes unheard
Carefree as an adult blessed with a dream
Carefree as water flowing downstream

Within you, I’ve found the perfect friend
With whom I can be real, and never pretend
You’ve always been someone unique from the rest
You hold a piece of me no other can possess

Within you is reason to live every moment in time
Within you the life I want is always mine
Within you, I have the perfect friend
With you, I see myself till the very end.

God’s Angels Still Answers

Call 911.The silence after the automobile crash, able to smell and see smoke.Am I trapped, yes, the door is slammed shut.”Lord,Help Me!” There comes a man from out of nowhere reached and opened the door.Out of nowhere comes another angel” I could hear the crash from house.  After She leads me to the car and in all the commotion the man ( angel) disappeared like he came.
My children was find.I looked back at my truck and it was totaled.
The ambulance ride was ruff .They wheeled me in a vacant room in  the middle of the hallway, and in the stillness, my thoughts turned to the tragic event .
I said “Thank you, Lord, again.” I could see God smiling at me.Only he knew whatvhis girl was going through.A good report from the ER doctors.
A deeper love relationship  began to blossom between my Master and me, unlike anything, I have ever known.Compelled me to know him much deeper than before, more than intimately, yes, the majesty power of God.
I remembered, Ephesians 3:14-18, and began to ponder on these words. I embraced His promises and thanked Him for his strength in my weakness. His love that He continues to give me.God’s love through fire, water, and pain.Who am I to question the ways of God?Through pray and faith I will continue to understand the awesome and infinite love of the God I serve.

Hands

” Thaese Hands of Mind’s” 2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
I take pictures, gobs of them, which I love to do daily and twice on Sunday. I love every one of them…I love to flash the camera at my grands every time they walk through the door. Anyone who sits still long enough to take a look.

My best friend looks at my hands a lot. I looked at grandma

(my) hands this morning and I thought through the years these hands have diapers many babies, washed many of faces, wiped away many tears, packed many lunches, handed over many car keys, tucked in many babies good night, clapped many times in Sunday morning worship and held together for many prayers prayed.Oh yes, an annointing and holding every new born baby born in the family.I couldn’t stop the lump from rising in my throat remembering my friend’s words, “Theses hands are beautiful to me.”I just smiled sweetly.

I then began to wonder, when will we women give up the idea that beauty means being perfectly groomed, nail trim and manicured, and wrinkle free. But comes to mind, when we will be sporting a brand-new, prefect spiritual body!Hallelujah!

Meanwhile, as we live out our lives here on earth, we need to encourage one another to take a deeper look at what’s really important, to put aside the luggage that keeps us from traveling through this life, this time, this moment, and focus on things that God is showing us important.

My friend looks beyond the outer appearance and looks into these brown eyes and get a glimpse into my soul. And the one word again that is spoken “Beautiful” Friends,It is absolutely amazing what one word can do! Yes! I would like to give my best friend a word today … as well…..absolutely beautiful.

Let me grow lovely, growing older and wiser. ….so many fine things to do.
